Mini Austin Vacation

I was lucky enough to get another long overnight in Austin this month. We were suppose to land at 3:57 PM yesterday and have nearly 22 hours. We also got a new long overnight hotel here in Austin. We now stay at the Radisson downtown on East Ceasar Chaves and Congress. Perfect location!!!

Unfortunately, the weather in SFO didn't exactly cooperate with our schedule. We had spent the night in Edmonton Alberta Canada and since the rain was rolling in fog we sat with passengers in the penalty box for a little over 1.5 hours. Yea for money!!! But boo on time schedule. This pushed us back anb hour for the day. Luckily I have an amazing crew this time around and we quick turned the aircraft in SFO and got on our way to Austin since they new how excited I was. Josh was going to meet me at the hotel. Originally I would have been there before him but he got there before us and had an opportunity to meet my crew. The best thing was that our new hotel (which is really nice for being a Radisson and those damn sleep number beds) but it was also right next to wear the bats come out! At dusk hundred of bats come out from underneath the bridge! We'll get back to that in a second.

So we went upstairs and got settled, I changed clothes and we went and had a few cocktails and dinner at T.G.I. Friday's since I get 20% off as a crew member. We then took a small walk towards Sixth St. and then back to the Congress Bridge for the bat show! They hide underneath in the ridges and then circle out towards dusk. There are soo many that it looks like smoke trails! Just look!!!

Josh got to stay the nicht and we had a little mini vacation. It was great to be in Austin but not be at home caught up in everything that needs to be done! We had kunch together too and now I'm on my way to do two flights and he's on his way home. Boo I want to stay here! But gotta make that $$$$!!!
